Let go of control
For a while I was under the illusion that if I could control things, I would be happy. I understand now that I need uncertainty to feel alive. There is a sadness in the risks and a consequent beauty in the sadness that makes life worth living. The payoffs are high. The trenches are deep. The work is unbearable at times, but the risks and rewards stem from within.
You’ll never explain it to those who tread in shallow water. There’s a whole other world out here.
